Seared Sesame Tuna is a recipe done my many chefs in many different ways. It’s the sort of recipe that looks fancy but is actually incredibly easy and quick to make.
The Tuna is meant to be blue in the middle (which I very much enjoy) but feel free to cook for slightly longer if this is not to your taste.
Serves 2
- 2 Tuna Steaks
- 1-2 handful(s) of Sesame Seeds
- 4 Spring Onions (finely sliced)
- Half a Cucumber (cut into fine batons)
- 1 handful of chopped Coriander
- 1-2 handful(s) of fresh or frozen Peas (placed in boiled water for 1-2 mins until tender)
Dressing
- 2 tbsp of Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp of Oil (Sesame, Groundnut, Pumpkin)
- Juice of 1 Lime
- Half a Chilli (finely chopped)
Method
- Combine the dressing ingredients and put to one side.
- Pop the spring onion, cucumber, peas and chopped coriander in a large salad bowl and gently toss.
- Sear the Tuna Steaks in a frying pan for 30 second on each side. Remove and coat with sesame seeds. Leave to stand for 3-5 mins.
- Finely slice the Tuna Steaks and gently toss with the salad and a little of the dressing.
- Serve with dressing on the side.
