Coming soon to a book shelf near you is Jamie Oliver’s next in his series of cookery books – Jamie’s Great Britain.
Launching on the 29th of September this new book is said to bring us recipes from across the Great British Isles, from some classics to apparently ones that should be. The book also accompanies his new 6 part show which is believed to be aired this Autumn and I’m hoping doesn’t disappoint.
Following the not so great success of his “food revolution” series in the States, Jamie appears to have to returned to his roots or should we say “comfort zone” that is sharing a whole range of British recipes for us to try at home. I have to say, I am a huge fan of Jamie and have several of his cookery books but I’ve still to find one that lives up to the “Ministry of Food” book which, in my personal opinion, supersedes many of his others. But it doesn’t stop getting me excited every time a new book of his is about to come out. I am looking forward to this as I tend not to cook that much truly British food so it will be good to be inspired to do so, I am just hoping though that unlike the “30 minute meals” book I don’t have to suddenly invest in food processors and a microwave to achieve the recipe.
That being said, it’s always good to have some foodie inspiration in the Autumn time and so I will be checking out the series to see if I should be adding this new recipe book to my shelf. But I suppose the big question is will it live up to its title? Answers on a postcard…
