The ToG team have been fans of Byres Road retailer Demijohn for quite some time now and we are always curious to hear what spirit based concoction they have recently come up with.
When the image came in to my mailbox the other day my heart sank thinking oh no, they haven’t gone and put Worcestershire Sauce in their latest gin offering! I mean I am a fan of gin and the old sauce but mixing them….??
Thankfully that is not the case and I should have just read the press release beforehand.
Being the ever so passionate connoisseurs of Sloe Gin, the Demijohn team decamped for a day to Galloway to pick enough sloes for their latest creation and then it was shipped and made in Worcestershire (there is the link!) for 12 months to mature.
The result is a rich liqueur that is ideal as an after dinner tipple or as a nip on a bracing winter’s walk, or can even be used for longer drinks such as a Kir with Champagne or in a Demijohn cocktail.
We will be running a competition in the next few days so you can get your hands on a bottle of this fine gin but if you can’t wait that long you should check out their website for more information on the spirits, oils and vinegars that they offer as they really do have some great offerings for Christmas presents or stop by their shop to marvel at all the amazing bottles!
